Our Charcuterie Boards and Serving Trays are meticulously crafted from natural wood pieces. Each piece undergoes a rigorous inspection to identify any potential modifications that will enhance its functionality and aesthetics. Given the inherent properties of wood, such as knot holes or soft live edges, some pieces may undergo epoxy treatment to improve their visual appeal while ensuring enhanced sanitation and durability. All live edges are thoroughly cleaned to remove any fibers, bark, or debris while preserving as much of the natural edge as possible.
Face Grain Cutting Boards are constructed by gluing wood strips together to create a hard surface, making them durable, requiring less maintenance, and more economical. However, this process can accelerate knife damage and make knife marks more visible.
End Grain Cutting Boards are created by flipping the wood so that the fibers or “end grains” face the surface. This design makes end grain cutting boards “knife friendly” and self-healing. The higher cost of end grain cutting boards stems from the increased labor involved in their production. Additionally, they require more frequent maintenance by applying oil and wax regularly.
All of our products are sanded to 220 grit, oiled to treat the wood, and waxed before shipping to our clients.
